Make n' Take Workshop
March 10, 2020 2:30-4:30 pm
We will make and experiment with:
1. Pencil Pendulum - Physics
We will build a pendulum using a pencil, string, and washers that will show how momentum is transferred from one object to another.
2. Thaumatrope - Persistence of Vision
A thaumatrope consists of one piece of paper with two different pictures on each side. When the paper is turned or flipped quickly the two pictures combine. Use one of the ready-made templates or create your own.
3. Electric Motor - Electricity and Magnetic Field
We will build an electric motor out of a plastic cup, some wire, a magnet, and a battery. It’s fun to see who can get their motor to spin the fastest.
For kids ages 8-12 (younger with an adult)
