About the course
These hands-on science workshops are offered weekly. Each workshop is 50 minutes long.
Each science workshop consists of an introduction to the concept followed by exploratory learning activities. Activity worksheets are used to record findings. Students can work alone or with a partner, but each student completes their own activity sheet. Teams can be parent/child or student/student. Small class sizes ensure individualized attention
Students explore concepts using hands-on activities. The 3-step Scientific Method of: Hypothesis, Test, Actual is followed. Students first record their guess as to what they think will happen. Next they try the activity and observe what happens. The result is recorded and compared to the guess. Using this information students make a guess for what will happen in the next activity. There is no right or wrong - just steps closer to understanding how a scientific concept works that are based on experience .
For boys and girls age 8-14.
